Testimonials About Barbara

Barbara Kaplan is a gifted and caring interior designer – for my home, and for me, personally. She helps nurture and empower a sense of purpose, which in turn, becomes reflected in the personal style and living spaces. She ALWAYS brings a fresh and unique perspective. Barbara’s Picks gives me a “go to” directory of her years of trusted relationships. It’s a joyous and optimistic experience working with Barbara, and if she trusts and recommends a business, I totally trust it as well!

Lisa G.,Urbandale, IA

Barbara helped us create a home environment that is truly a reflection of our lifestyle. She took us through a process in which we were able to refine our ideas and implement them with confidence.

Ricki & Ralph P., Phoenix, AZ

I so LOVE what you did with the house. Three people who have been coming to my house for a while now, this was their first time noticing the small table in the “open pantry” as I call it. We are enjoying more eating at the dining room. Last night we put all the rugs in and you should see the difference that it made. So warm, I wish you could see it. Thank you so much for coming over and making the changes, it really opened up our house as well as inviting us back in to love our house. Again, thank you for your time and your advice.

Giangi T.

Barbara Kaplan gets to the heart of the matter. In her Bajaro Method certification classes, Barbara shares extensively from her years of experience with vendors, clients, and the design industry. More importantly, she offers a unique opportunity to understand how important the human element is in transforming a room into an inviting living space, a house into a home, a space into a sanctuary. I was reminded to actively listen to my clients and remember that design should always be a collaborative process, after all, it is their home!

Deborah M.K., Prescott, AZ

All is well and our home has become such a welcoming Haven for our family and friends.

Gayle W., Scottsdale, AZ

My skill set doesn’t include any of those required to envision a beautiful and gracious home.  I want to open the door, walk in and have it be me and done.  How to get there, well, there was the rub!  I didn’t even know my colors, never even thought about them.   This is not to say that I was lazy and disinterested in everything.  I have my reason to be and I feel very comfortable in my role on the planet.  I just didn’t know at that time that I had any crossover skills.  Barbara was able to get me to focus, gently and lovingly, and to become interested in selecting fabrics and tasks of that sort.  Ultimately, all of the choices were mine and my husband’s.  I understand why I made each and everyone and I love it all.  Barbara’s gentle guidance opened me up to this new world that I tip toed in until I became comfortable.  Barbara was the “wind beneath my wings.”

Susan Y., Phoenix, AZ

As I read “The Bajaro Method”, I thought that the author’s understanding of the emotional impact of our environments was helpful.  At first I did not understand what Barbara Kaplan meant when she said that “Rooms don’t have feelings, you do.” Then, as I continued through the chapters, I had an “A-ha” moment. I came to a deeper understanding of how the design choices I make affect the emotions of the occupants. As a young designer, it is up to me to ask the right questions and make a healing, comforting and personal environment. I also have been inspired to look around my own home and think about what changes I want to make for myself and my family. I am pleased with the insight that I gained from reading this book.

Amy S., ASID Allied

I just want to tell you how impressed I am with your talent, patience, sense of humor, professionalism, and ability to turn out fabulous projects. Your clients are lucky to have you!

Elaine W.

I appreciate so much how you helped us “take the fear out of interior decorating.”  When Jeff and I bought this house we wanted to add some color and thought of painting an accent wall.  As you know, I am not timid about self-expression in areas that I am familiar with, but decorating isn’t my area of expertise, so I didn’t trust my instincts.   You listened, applied your knowledge of us and our lives, and your advisement was right on.  You were able to zero in on what I desired to do, instead of what I voiced. Because of your encouragement, we found our edge and have been so happy with our decorating decisions. Our home makes me smile every time I enter it and isn’t that what it is all about? Later, when it came time to do some updates how fortunate for me that you wrote “The Bajaro Method” for me to turn to. It was just like you being there to listen and encourage. I turn to it every time I need “permission.” Thanks again, and I wish everyone their own healing environment.

Pat L., Phoenix, AZ

I took The Bajaro Method Interior Design Preference Profile online and for the first time, it made me think about my home and my preferences. This process made me understand that my space is my sanctuary. The questions helped me learn more about my likes, dislikes, and what makes me feel comfortable. It made me consider choices outside my normal “box” of ideas. Based on the results, I plan to add more color and some items that are soothing that reflect my personality.
