Is Your Home As Unique As You Are?

You’ve heard it said that we are all unique. Have you thought about your uniqueness? And if so, how have you expressed this in your home?

Asking this question is how I approach every new client’s project. Through a process of asking the right questions, the right answers are discovered and an individual design style picture and story is created.

One of my favorite client stories happened when I had just finished redecorating a client’s home and her friend came to visit. As she looked around her friend said, “I can tell you had help decorating your home. This doesn’t look like you!” Hearing this, I felt devastated. Seeing my face, my client quickly finished the story and told me her answer to her friend. She replied, “This is the ‘me’ I didn’t know I was!” She had found her uniqueness and we had expressed it through interior design.

This is why I love what I do so much.

Your home is a reflection of who you are and when you haven’t yet discovered your own distinctive style you are unable to make choices that reveal your personal style. Awareness of your taste and preferences is key and with this knowledge you gain design power. The best way to accomplish this is by asking yourself questions. The answers clarify your uniqueness.

As Sir Francis Bacon said, “Knowledge is power.” This is what led me to create The Bajaro Method. I saw that without design confidence, people were afraid to make decorating decisions on their own. Without confidence, they were not making decorating choices that were different from everyone else and unique to them. They were looking to others, trends or media to tell them what they liked.

Design power is what The Bajaro Method is all about and I am so grateful to have witnessed this discovery for my clients and people who have shared their design journey with me.
